We have the pleasure to inform you that the hotel complex owner - the company of Hermes Tour Ltd., was founded in September 1998 in the city of Varna. The hotel complex is situated very close to the beach within Golden sands Resort. After a competition in December 1998 a selling contract for the hotel complex was signed with the Ministry of Trade and Tourism - Sofia. The investment program, according to the privatisation contract has been conducted in two stages. In the period of 1 November 1999 until 1 June 2000 the old hotel Obzor was demolished and on its place a new one was built, offering 519 beds, A-la-cart restaurant and outdoor swimming pool between the two hotels. A management contract was signed with the Spanish hotel chain Iberostar in 2000. During the same year the hotel staff took training courses in Spain at hotels, managed by Iberostar.

The second stage of reconstruction took place in the period of 1 November 2000 until 1 June 2001, when on the place of the old Izgrev hotel a new one was built, offering 494 beds, 220-seat conference hall, 300-seat Animation hall, Balneotherapy center, Sky bar, 750-seat main restaurant, 2 open-air caf? - terraces, night club, indoor swimming pool. In 2002 an outdoor swimming pool was built next to Obzor Beach hotel and the Balneotherapy center was modernly equipped.

The new-built hotels have an interconnection passage between them and each of them has a lobby bar and a spacious foyer. The rooms are large and comfortable, have balconies, mini-bars, telephone, TV set and air-condition systems. All bathrooms dispose with tubs, hair-dryers and telephones. The offered services meet the 4-star category requirements.

Qualified and well-trained personnel with experience in the field of tourism and services run the hotel complex. The personnel structure consists of:

  • Personnel with lower level of qualification
  • Auxiliary personnel

The staff works as a single unit which basic principles are high quality of provided services and total satisfaction of customers' demands.

In 1999 the number of personnel was 108 people. After the first reconstruction and building of the new Obzor hotel in 2000, the number of personnel was increased to 180 people. During 2001, after the second reconstruction and the building of Izgrev hotel, the number of the staff was increased to 236. At full capacity the total number of personnel is 270 people.

The leading motivations for development are the professionalism and ability to compete. Thanks to the good location of the hotel complex - in a park area and very close to the beach, the possibilities for business and congress tourism, the available Balneotherapy center during the whole year, the superior level of cuisine as well as the variety of show programs, Iberostar Obzor Beach & Izgrev hotel complex makes a long term regular relationship with the tour operators. During high season most of the tourists are Germans. Other tourists that also prefer to have their holiday here are Bulgarians, English people, Belgians, Scandinavians, Russians etc.
